The Sunderland Trust Visit
Lego Me's day out at The Heritage Centre

As many of you who follow lego me know that where I go, she goes. Recently whilst doing my teaching work in the local primary schools with Springboard, we took a little trip to the Sunderland Trust museum. During the War times Pembroke Dock was a garrison town. It was one of the only places in Britain to host the Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and Royal Army all at the same time. The Heritage centre has been allocated one of the historic buildings in the town, the Garrison Chapel. Two years ago it went under redevelopment and now is home to military history and parts of the Sunderland flying boat. Our morning was spent learning about the history and talks about Betty Foggy as mentioned in last post.
In the next few weeks the centre will have a life size cockpit built of the Sunderland in which you will be able to interact with and take off and land as they would have in the past. It is an exciting opportunity in the making and hopefully it will generate a lot more visitors. Our class really enjoyed their experience and learnt something at the same time. Do not despair the centre also has a great little coffee shop in a cosy corner of the exhibition. For more information please follow http://www.sunderlandtrust.com
