Degree Show
Students work on Display

So as many of you already know, I have been back to University to complete my BA Hons Photography Degree. That time has finally come in which I wait and anticipate my final results and put on a show. With one week to go until students work goes on display for the public to view. We have worked so hard this term in all departments at Carmarthen School of Art. Not only have we completed intensive research in order for us to make our images come to life but we have also had to get studio space ready and change a working studio into a gallery fit for display.
My recent work has been influenced by well-known female photographers, subsequently refining my own visual and conceptual vocabulary that emerges through my focus on my completed series of self-portraits.
I turned the camera and chooses to put myself in the frame. Combining my self-portraits with stock images to reflect the seven deadly sins. I was influenced by the idea of becoming my own subject. I wanted to explore issues of the self, reality and fiction. My photographs are portraits in various scenarios that have been created and combined to evacuate a story. Which leave a question, ask yourself "How does your truth and perception of yourself and reality differ from that of others?
The show opens to the public Saturday 21st May 2016 and is open daily until June 3rd. It would be great if you can pop along and see our work.
