Wedding Day 24th May 2019

A joyful spring wedding filled with rose gold details, emotional family moments and endless laughter. From the morning preparations through to the celebrations, every part of the day refelected Kayleigh and Mark's warmth, personality and love for family.

The Details

Before the excitement of the ceremony began, I spent time capturing the carefully chosen details that would become part of Kayleigh and Mark's story. Rose gold sparkles, beautiful blooms and meaningful keepsakes all reflected the elegance and personality of the day.

Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue ...

there was nothing blue about this wedding, it was pink from beginning to end.

Bridal Preparations

I met Kayleigh two years ago when she started wedding planning, turned out that I know her mother and father very well but as the years went by our connections had gone in different directions. But I always knew they were a special couple who if ever my family needed them that they would be there for us, so as you can imagine I was absolutely thrilled to be asked to capture their daughters wedding day.

On the morning of the wedding, there was a calm excitement throughout the hotel as hair and make-up were completed and final touches were added.

The bridesmaids looked stunning in sparkling rose gold gowns while Kayleigh wore an elegant gown with a catherdral-length train. Vintage roses and peonies completed the look perfectly.

A Father's Favourite Walk

One of the most emotional moments of the morning came before the ceremony. Kayleigh gifted her father a pair of cufflinks engraved with the words:

"Of all the walks we have had, this one is my favourite"

A simple gift, but one that carried so much meaning as they prepared to walk down the aisle together.

The Ceremony

Mark waited patiently surrounded by family and friends, the anticipation built. Then at 12.30pm the doors opened and Kayleigh appeared, ready to begin the next chapter of their lives together.

The ceremony was filled with smiles, laughter and heartfelt emotion before they were finally announced as husband and wife.

Portraits at Wolfscastle

Nestled in the heart of the Pembrokeshire countryside, Wolfscastle provided the perfect backdrop for romantic portraits. Between celebrations we explored the grounds and surrounding area, capturing relaxed moments together as newlyweds.

Unexpected Guests

With both Kayleigh and Mark celebrating birthdays alongside their wedding day, there was even more to celebrate. With a surprise nobody saw coming.

Knowing howwmuch she adored llamas, Kayleigh arranged for some special guests to join the celebrations. As the animals arrived, guests gathered with excitement, eager to meet them and capture a few memorable photographs.

The surprise brought plenty of laughter and quickly became one of the highlights of the day. Even the llamas seemed to enjoy being the centre of attention.

For me, one of the most memorable moments came when Kayleigh kindly stepped behind the camera to take a photograph of me with the llamas. It was simple but hilarious moment that perfectly reflected the warmth, fun and personality that made this wedding so special.

A Perfect Day

Kayleigh and Mark are truly surrounded by people who adore them, and throughout the day it was clear just how loved they are. From the emotional moments to the laughter shared with family and friends, every part of the celebration reflected the warmth and happiness that defines them as a couple.

As the evening celebrations continued, I left knowing I had witnessed something very special.

Thank you for inviting Beverley Thomas Photography to be part of your wedding day. It was an absolute privilege to capture your story, and I wish you both a lifetime filled with love, laughter, happiness and many more unforgettable adventures together.

Congratulations, Mr & Mrs Williams.

Firstly, I must apologise the lack of updates on this blog but then again who actually reads? Times have been up and down to say the least, and that has played with my mental well being, especially when it has come to my photographic practice. For many years, I have concentrated on giving 100% to my passion and this is my source of income as a professional photographer. However, the pandemic has made me stop and think about sustainability within the photographic industry and just what is it all about and for what?

Photographs are not just images; they are physical artifacts. The physical form of the photographic image, prescribed by prevailing technology, determines what can be photographed, how it can be displayed or published, how it can be encountered by others, how it can circulate through public culture.
