PERSONAL WORK

Carmarthen School of Art

This work was based on a University Project whist studying for a BA (Hons) Photography. The theme Beverley choose was completely different from her normal photography because she would like you to see a diverse section of her work.

Beverley Thomas’s recent work has been influenced by well-known female photographers, subsequently refining her own visual and conceptual vocabulary that emerges through her focus on her completed series of self-portraits.

Seven Deadly Sins

Beverley turned the camera and chooses to put herself in the frame in some of these photographs. Combining her self-portraits with stock images to reflect the seven deadly sins. She was influenced by the idea of becoming her own subject after creatively capturing the DC comic book characters in her previous shoots. Beverley wanted to explore issues of the self, reality and fiction. Her photographs are portraits in various scenarios that have been created and combined to evacuate a story.
