CONTEMPORARY WORK

Falmouth University

This work was based on a University Project whist studying for an MA in Photography. The theme Beverley choose was completely different from her normal photography because she would like you to see a diverse section of her work.

Beverley Thomas’s recent work has been influenced by well-known photographers such as Nick Knight, and Nick Veasley, subsequently refining her own visual and conceptual vocabulary that emerges through her focus on her completed series of light studies.

The Study of Light

Beverley used the camera and began capturing long night exposures. Combining her photographic knowledge, she was influenced by photographic history, time and the perception of reality.

In 2020 the world was hit by a pandemic known as Covid -19 and Beverley's work had to adapt, she decided to experiment with a camera-less processes for her final major project using plant specimens collected from daily walks. This series invites you to see the light.
